Golf Professional Emeritus, Larry Brady
Mr. Brady has been a member of the Champaign Country Club golf staff longer than any other pro in the Club's history. Larry started caddying when he was just 11 years old and started working full-time at Champaign Country Club in 1963.
Asked about the highlight of his long tenure at the Club, Brady explained: "The most satisfying part of my career has been watching junior golfers come up through the junior golf program at Champaign and end up considering careers in golf, either as players or Club pros. Kids like Bill Hobbs, Sandy Leach, Ron Deering, Becky Beach, Ann Evans, and Rob Mills. It's also rewarding to see so many juniors return, years later, as members themselves. We've got kids in junior golf today whose fathers and mothers were in my junior golf program years ago."
In 2001, Larry was names Golf Professional Emeritus in honor of his dedication and many years of service to the Club, and today remains a vital part of the Club's professional golf staff.
Today, Larry still plays almost everyday and most shot his 4th hole in one on #8 in 2020!
